ACCESSING THE WIRELESS NETWORK FROM A SMITH RESIDENCE HOUSE

This document explains how to access the Smith wireless network from a Smith residence house.

  1. Open an Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox window.

  2. Activate your wireless connection.

  3. Choose a wireless network.

  4. At the first Security Alert window, click Yes to continue.

  5. At the next Security Alert window, click Yes to proceed.

  6. On the Web Authentication page, click Accept.

  7. You will see Connection Successful in the browser window and another Security Alert.  Click Yes to continue.

  8. If you already have the Cisco Clean Access Agent (CCA) software installed on your computer, wait for the CCA login screen to open, then log in as usual.

    1. If CCA scans your system and finds that all required software is installed and up-to-date, you will see a Connection Successful window.

Congratulations - you can now access the Internet!

    2. If CCA finds that any required software is missing, the directions on the screen will prompt you to install the missing components.

However, since a wireless connection is much slower than a wired connection, we recommend that you use a wired connection to download any missing software or updates.

If you don't already have Cisco Clean Access (CCA) software installed on your computer:

  1. You will be redirected to the Network Authentication page. If you see one or more additional Security Alert windows, click Yes to proceed.

  2. On the Smith Residential Network Login page, log in and click Continue.

  3. On the next screen, click on the Download Clean Access Agent button.

  4. In the Security Alert window, click Yes.

  5. In the File Download window, click Open.

  6. In the Security Warning window, click Run.

  7. The InstallShield Wizard window will open, followed in a few seconds by the Cisco Clean Access Agent InstallShield Wizard.  Click Next to continue.

  8. In the Destination Folder window, click Next.

  9. In the Ready to Install window, click Install to begin the installation.

  10. After a few minutes, when the InstallShield Wizard Completed window appears, click Finish.

  11. The Cisco Clean Access Agent login window will appear. Enter your GroupWise username and password, then click Login.

    1. If CCA scans your system and finds that all required software is installed and up-to-date, you will see a Connection Successful window.

Congratulations - you can now access the Internet!

    2. If CCA finds that any required software is missing, follow the directions on the screen to install the missing components.
