Changing
Your Novell Network Password on a Networked PC
Your
Novell network password is the one you enter in the login box that appears
when you first start up your computer. Staff members typically log
on to one of the ADMIN servers. Faculty members
typically log on to the HUMARTS, SOSCI, or SCIENCE server. Students log
on to
one
of the four STUDENT servers.
Windows XP
- Press
the CTRL, ALT, and DEL keys at the same time.
- In
the Netware Security window, click on the Change Password
button in the lower left corner.
- Enter your
old password in
the Old Password field and press the Tab key.
- Enter a
new password in
the New Password field and press the Tab key. Note
that you cannot reuse a password you've used before.
- Re-enter
your new password in
the Confirm New Password field, and click the OK button.
If
the network does not accept your new password, review the guidelines for
choosing safe and sexy passwords, and repeat.
Windows 98 and Windows XP
- Right-click
on the NetWare Services icon (red letter N) in the lower right
corner of your desktop.
- From
the pop-up menu, select User Administration for SMITH TREE,
then Novell
Password Administration.
- In the
User Password Administration window, click
on the Change Password button.
- In
the NetWare Services window, enter your
old password in
the Old Password field and press the Tab key..
- Enter a
new password in
the New Password field and press the Tab key. Note
that you cannot reuse a password you've used before.
- Re-enter
your new password in
the Confirm New Password field and click the OK button.
