Changing
Your Novell Network Password on a Macintosh
Your Novell network password is the one you enter at the login box that
appears when you first start your computer. Staff members typically log
on to the ADMIN1, ADMIN2, or ADMIN3 server. Faculty members typically
log on to the HUMARTS, SOSCI, or SCIENCE server. Students log on to one
of the four student servers: STUDENT1, STUDENT2, STUDENT3, or STUDENT4.
Mac
OSX
- Select
Connect to Server from the Go Menu.
- Locate
your server from the Favorite Server List then click
Connect.
- Type
your usename in the Name area.
- Click
the Options button then click the Change Password
button.
- Confirm
the Change Password for "username in server".
If correct continue on to step 6, otherwise cancel twice and reselect
the server and type retype your username.
- Enter
your Old Password, New Password and Confirm
Password areas. Click OK when complete.
Note: The
next time you log on, use your new password.
Mac
OS 9
- Log
on to the server that you normally use.
- From
the Apple menu, select the Chooser.
- In
the Chooser, click first on Appleshare, then on the Appletalk zone and
server that you are using. Then choose OK.
For example, if you have logged into the STUDENT1 server, click on Appleshare,
then on the Appletalk zone Smith.Macs, then on the file server STUDENT1.
- A
dialog box appears reminding you that you are already logged in.Click
on the Set Password button in the dialog box.
- In
the next dialog box, first type your old password (the one you used
to login to the network for this session), then press Tab and type your
new password. When you are done, click OK. (Your password does not appear
on the screen.)
- A
confirmation box appears, asking for verification. Retype your new password
exactly as you entered it the first time, then click OK.

the network does not accept your new password, review the guidelines for
choosing safe and sexy passwords.
