Changing your GroupWise Desktop Client Password

  1. On a PC, open the Tools menu and select Options.
On a Mac, open the Edit menu and select Preferences.

  2. In the Options window, double-click on the Security icon.

  3. In the Security window, click on the Passwords tab.

  4. Enter your old password and press the Tab key.

  5. Enter a new password and press the Tab key.

Note: Your new password should be 6-8 characters long. Any mix of letters and numbers is fine, but just remember that GroupWise passwords are case-sensitive:

This means that PassWord, password, PASSWORD and PaSsWoRd are all DIFFERENT.

  6. Enter your new password in the Confirm box, then click OK.

Note: For security reasons, we strongly recommend that you do not check off the box for "Remember my password".

Note: Changing your password on the GroupWise desktop client also changes it for GroupWise WebAccess, and for your Novell access.
