CHANGING YOUR DEFAULT BROWSER
Changing your default internet browser (e.g., from Internet Explorer
to Mozilla Firefox), is a two-part process:
- You must
first activate the feature in the browser that causes it to check whether it's already
your default browser, and if not, ask if you want it to become the default.
- Once that's done, the next time your preferred browser asks if you want it to become your default browser, you can answer "Yes."
The instructions below explain how to make either Internet
Explorer or Mozilla Firefox your
default browser.
To make Internet Explorer your default browser:
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Open the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
- Click on the Programs tab, then click on the checkbox that
says "Internet
Explorer should check to see if it is the default browser."
- Click OK to save changes and close the dialog box.
- Close Internet Explorer.
- Open Internet Explorer again. When the program asks whether you want to make it your default browser, click "Yes".
To make Mozilla Firefox your default browser:
- Open Mozilla FireFox.
- Click Tools, then Options.
- Under 'Default Browser', click Check Now.
- When your browser asks if it should be the default, click Yes.
