Installing the GroupWise Desktop Client
NOTE: Please print these instructions
before beginning the installation.
GroupWise is the recommended email program for all Smith
students, staff, and faculty. All on-campus students, staff, and
faculty should follow the instructions below to download and
install the GroupWise desktop client.
In addition, we encourage all off-campus
students, staff, and faculty with
a high-speed Internet connection to install and use the
GroupWise desktop client for their email.
To
install the GroupWise desktop client, you will need:
- A computer running Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP.
- A high-speed Internet connection. All
on-campus students, staff, and faculty have
this capability through the built-in dataport in their residence
house or office.
If you
are off-campus, you will need a cable modem, satellite link, or DSL
service
for the
desktop
client to function properly..
Mac OS 10.x
users : There is currently no version of the GroupWise desktop client for Mac OS 10. Until one is available, we recommend accessing your email using GroupWise WebAccess or MacMail. For information about MacMail, see: www.smith.edu/its/tara/groupwise/macmail.html
