DATA ANALYSIS

Educational Technology Services offers the following services in support of statistics and data analysis:

  • Tutoring for students in statistics courses and assistance with course-related research projects.
  • Consultation with advanced students engaged in statistical research endeavors.
  • Assistance to faculty with research components of courses and the creation of research-related courses.
  • Assistance with data acquisition and management (through ICPSR).
  • Consultation on research design and data analysis.
  • Collaboration on research projects.
  • Guidance on Internet resources and services.
  • Assistance with statistical software (SPSS, SAS, and TSP).
  • Assistance with graphics software (DeltaGraph).

Many of these services are provided in the Jahnige Social Science Research Center (ext. 3041). If you have specific questions, please send email to the Statistical Consultant or call ext. 3043.


SPSS Availability

For students, SPSS statistical software for PCs is available in the Jahnige classroom, Washburn and King 24-hour labs, and in the Seelye Resource Center. SPSS for Macs is available in the Jahnige classroom, the Washburn 24-hour lab, and the Bass Resource Center.

For faculty, SPSS is available for both Windows and Macintosh computers. To request installation on a faculty computer, send email to the Educational Computing Analyst or call ext. 4202.

Staff members who require a copy of SPSS should contact Desktop Technology Services at ext. 4086.
