Incubator Classroom
The incubator classroom in Seelye B4 allows ETS and other interested departments to experiment with and provide feedback on classroom design configurations. Primarily for use by early adopter faculty, various furniture configurations, emerging technologies, and other classroom aesthetics can be evaluated in this room as a means to consider their use in other Smith College learning spaces. Given that the technologies in use may be new, ETS staff may or may not be able to assist with each technical problem, so backup plans are strongly encouraged.
While any member of the Smith community may use the incubator classroom, preference will be given to semester long courses. Scheduling is done through ETS, contact Tom Laughner, x 3079 or Jo Cannon, x3472.
Because of its purpose, those using the incubator classroom agree to allow staff in ETS and other departments to observe classes through a variety of methods, including but not limited to direct observation, or a web cam. Notification would be given prior to any observation. |
