ITL 220 - Intermediate Italian
ITL 340 The Theory and Practice of Translation
Professor of Italian Language and Literature
Department of Italian Language and Literature
I am originally from Milano, Italy. I moved to the United States in 1980 and I started teaching at Smith in 1984. Teaching is very important to me, and I do not see it as separate from my research work.
I am very interested in language pedagogy and I enjoy exploring how new technology can help students to learn more effectively.
My literary research work has centered on modern Italian women writers and migration studies. I have also continued to work on the theory and practice of translation.
