Northampton Emergency Shelter on Center Street
Smith students and others regularly volunteer for one-and-a-half-hour shifts one night each week at the Northampton Emergency Shelter on Center Street, a very short walk from campus. During J-term, extra volunteers are needed to assist with clean-up for teams who serve meals, to socialize with shelter residents, and do other tasks for the shelter staff. If you would like more information about this shelter, or if you are interested in helping out in January (even if you can't do every week), please contact student volunteer coordinator Barbara Blumenthal in the Neilson Library Rare Book Room, at ext. 2906 or bblument@email.smith.edu.
January 24–25 Cost: $150.00 Class is free if you are a student and interested in becoming a 2009 Outdoor Adventure Orientation Leader
