Congratulations on being accepted to Smith College and welcome to our international community. Please read all of the new student pages listed here on the menu to the right very carefully. Some pages are particularly important and should be printed out to bring with you when you travel. There are some very important telephone numbers and information listed on them. Pages you need to print to bring with you will be clearly marked near the top of the page. If you have any difficulties during your travel, you can call our office and request assistance. Important: All I-20 forms for the entering class including early admitted students will be issued in late May and early June, provided our office has received all necessary paperwork, including a Certification of Finances. You should not expect to receive your I-20 before about June 20th, assuming you submitted your Certification of Finances promptly. When you fill out your Certification of Finances, make sure you provide a complete and legible address, including a postal code and telephone number so that we can send the I-20 to you using a courier service.
In addition to visa information, new students should be aware that all incoming international students must participate in the International Students' Preorientation (ISP). We have started a blog to help pass on important information over the course of the summer and help to keep students updated on our progress and preparations for the new year: A World of Students.
