INSIGHT access

The INSIGHT software is installed on public access workstations in the Smith College Libraries, Imaging Center, and Labs.

Look for the Insight 6.0 icon on the desktop.

Click on the icon and use your Novell user name and password to log-in.

WARNING: You may see the obsolete version, Insight 5.6 on some workstations.If you have not switched to Insight 6.0 you may still use this one. BUT: you must have a special Insight password assigned by the Imaging Center and any groups made in the new Insight 6.0 will not show up in Insight 5.6.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Download Insight 6.0 to your personal computer or laptop.

Installation Instructions for MAC

1. Click on MAC OS X Insight 6.0 (00) 12 June 2008 Download

2. "You have chosen to open....." Select "Save to disk." Click "OK"

3. Select Save to desktop, click Save

4. Click on icon Installinsight.zip

5. The "installinsight" icon will appear. Click on the icon.

6. Select Advanced

7. Select "new" (not "update")

8. Select Alias Folder On the Desktop

9. IMPORTANT: Change the User Manager Address to luna-insight.smith.edu

Installation Instructions for WINDOWS

1. Click on WINDOWS Insight v.6.0(00) 12 June 2008 Download

2. "You have chosen to open..." click SAVE FILE

3. Look for the "install Insight.exe" icon.

4. "The publisher could not be verified. Are your sure?" click RUN

5. Choose "Advanced"

6. Select "new" (not "update")

7. Select Shortcut Folder "On the Desktop"

8. IMPORTANT: Change the User Manager Address to luna-insight.smith.edu
