Insight 6.2 Java client software installation

PLEASE NOTE: the INSIGHT Java client is being phased out for general campus use. However, faculty may request use of the client for certain feature sets not yet available in LUNA. Contact Jon Cartledge x4568 to discuss use of the client for your teaching.

Installation Instructions for MAC

1. Click on MAC OS X Insight 6.2(00) 15 May2009 Download

2. "You have chosen to open....." Select "Save to disk." Click "OK"

3. Select Save to desktop, click Save

4. Click on icon Installinsight.zip

5. The "installinsight" icon will appear. Click on the icon.

6. Select Advanced

7. Select "new" (not "update")

8. Select Alias Folder On the Desktop

9. IMPORTANT: Change the User Manager Address to luna-insight.smith.edu

Installation Instructions for WINDOWS

1. Click on WINDOWS Insight v.6.2(00) 15 May2009 Download

2. "You have chosen to open..." click SAVE FILE

3. Look for the "install Insight.exe" icon.

4. "The publisher could not be verified. Are your sure?" click RUN

5. Choose "Advanced"

6. Select "no" (you are not updating)

7. Select Shortcut Folder "On the Desktop"

8. IMPORTANT: Change the User Manager Address to luna-insight.smith.edu
