When my dad urged me to look at Smith and Wellesley, my reaction was “absolutely not.” Eventually, I did visit both schools and when I came to Smith, I knew it was where I wanted to be. I liked Northampton, the tour guide was friendly and Smith just seemed to fit with my personality. I felt I could belong here.

I came to Smith knowing I wanted to attend medical school. Still, I had no clue what I was going to study. Attending a liberal arts school offers me the option of being able to explore everything. Right now, I think my major will be Italian studies.

Smith’s size is perfect. It’s small enough so that you really get to know a lot of people and big enough so that you don’t know everyone. And now that I’m at a women’s college, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The Five College consortium is another reason I chose Smith. You can study at five different colleges just by getting into one of them.
