After graduating from high school, I enrolled
at San Francisco State University. While interviewing to take a course at the American
Conservatory Theatre, I met a Smith student who was interning there. She told me that I
should consider Smith. I'd never heard of it and was a little skeptical because it sounded
too good to be true. I stayed at San Francisco State for a year and discovered it wasn't
for me. I returned home and enrolled at the University of Oslo. That wasn't right for me
either. I made up my mind to attend Smith.
One of the reasons I applied was the small class
size. The classroom experience is personal and learning focused. It's not about what you're
wearing or what you look like. The focus is what you have to say and what you think.
I
used to wonder, "Why are there no straight paths to any of the buildings?" Eventually,
I realized, that that's like me. It took some time to get to where I was meant to be. |
