Caring for Children - Section 405

Sunnyside Childcare Center
An independent childcare center is conveniently situated on the Smith College campus. Sunnyside is located in a college-owned building at 70 Paradise Road and accepts children from 18 months to 5 years.

Smith-Northampton Summer School
In conjunction with the City of Northampton, the college sponsors and subsidizes the Smith-Northampton Summer School, which offers academic, sports, and creative art programs for local children in grades three through eight.

Snow Day/Vacation Week Programs
The People’s Institute in Northampton offers before- and after-school care for children in grades K-6. Smith College sponsors subsidized childcare programs for children of benefit-eligible employees when public schools in Northampton are closed for inclement weather and during the February and April vacations. Registration, in the Office of Human Resources, is required prior to enrollment in the Smith-sponsored programs.
