The approximately 916 staff members of Smith College work in 79 different departments. As of 2012, our average length of service at the college is 13.6 years, and about 275 of us have worked at the college for more than 20 years. We are a diverse group: approximately 625 of us are women and 291 of us are men; 100 of us are Asian, African-American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander or multiracial.
