Employment Opportunities

The Office of Human Resources is accepting summer applications for a limited number of openings for summer employment in the Facilities Management department. All positions are full time (32 hours), Monday through Friday, with various shifts available. These positions entail custodial, grounds and general maintenance.

What is the Process?

Returning workers will receive a questionnaire and do not need to complete an on-line application. New applicants need to complete the Summer Application in PeopleAdmin. Once the summer application has been submitted, the applicant will receive a confirmation number on the screen. Each application will be reviewed for eligibility. If there are available vacancies after returning workers are hired, eligible applicants will be contacted by Facilities Management directly regarding their assignments. Eligible applicants that are not placed initially will be placed on a wait list for potential openings. The deadline for applications is March 30, 2012 at 4:30 p.m.

Who is Eligible?

Applicants must be Smith College undergraduate students and/or dependents of benefit eligible Smith College employees. All applicants must be at least 16 years old by their first day of employment, returning to school full time in the fall to high school or undergraduate studies, and available to work through the end of August. Priority for filling positions goes first to eligible returning workers from previous summer, Smith College undergraduate students, then to college age dependents and then to high school age dependents.
