Who is Eligible?

Positions are available to current Smith employees' dependents who are at least 16 years of age by their date of hire and will be full time students in high school or college, and to Smith students who will be returning to Smith in the fall of 2008.

From the posting, click on "Apply for this Posting", create an account and complete the application process.  Once completed, you will receive a confirmation number and email acknowledgement.

Types of Available Positions

Grounds - Lawn-mowing, raking, light trimming, general grounds maintenance throughout campus; other related duties. Some positions may require a valid driver’s license.

Physical Plant/Building Services - Custodial duties related to cleaning and maintenance of academic buildings. Duties include washing windows, walls, and woodwork; shampoo carpets, strip and wax floors; move furniture, restock supplies, and basement/attic cleaning as needed; other related duties. Second shift positions are also available.

Other Physical Plant areas such as Carpentry, Garage, Drafting, Bookkeeping, may have some positions available.

Residential Services – Custodial duties related to cleaning and maintenance of residential buildings. Duties include cleaning in kitchens, dining rooms, student rooms and other residential living space; wash windows, walls, ceilings and woodwork; shampoo carpets, strip and wax floors; move furniture, restock supplies, and basement/attic cleaning as needed; other related duties.

What is the Process?

Once an application is submitted through Careers@Smith for a summer position, the applicant will receive an acknowledgement email.

Each application will be reviewed for eligibility and minimum qualifications. Applicant's who are not eligible and/or not qualified for the position will be contacted by a Human Resources.

The review process for applications will be on a continuing basis until all positions are filled.
