The Office of Human Resources is located at
30 Belmont Avenue (at the bend of the street). Belmont Avenue is current closed due to construction. It is advised that all visitors park in the Smith College parking garage. There
is visitor parking on all levels of the garage.
You may walk from the parking garage to 30 Belmont by
exiting the garage and taking a left down West Street. Cross over West street
and walk down to the first street on the right, Ahwaga Street. Walk to the
end of the street and take a right. 30 Belmont is the building on the right. This
is about a five-minute walk.
By Car
From the South: Northampton is on Route
I-91 in Massachusetts.
- Take Exit 18, and follow Route 5 north into
the center of town.
- At the intersection of Route 5 and 9 (Main
Street), turn left onto Route 9.
- Go straight through one set of traffic lights.
- At the second set of traffic lights turn
left onto Route 66.
- Take your first right onto Green Street.
- Take your next left onto Belmont Avenue.
From the North: Northampton
is on Route I-91 in Massachusetts.
- Take Exit 20, and follow Route 5 South into
the center of town.
- At the intersection of Route 5 and 9 (Main
Street), turn right onto Route 9.
- Go straight through one set of traffic lights.
- At the second set of traffic lights turn
left onto Route 66.
- Take your first right onto Green Street.
- Take your next left onto Belmont Avenue.
From the East or West via the Massachusetts
Turnpike: Northampton is on Route I-91 North (exit 4). Once
on I-91, follow the directions "From the South" above.
By Bus
Peter Pan, Greyhound and Vermont Transit serve
the area. Most routes go to the main bus terminal in Springfield, where you can catch
another bus to Northampton. Buses run almost hourly between Springfield and Northampton.
Smith is a 10-minute walk or a short taxi ride from the bus station. Call (413) 586-1030

By Train
Amtrak -- (800) 872-7245 -- runs trains to
Springfield. From Springfield you can take a bus or get van service to Northampton
from Valley Transporter. Valley Transporter requires advance reservations; call (413)
253-1350 or, from the airports or outside the 413 area code, (800) 872-8752.
By Air
The closest airport is Bradley
International. It is served by most major airlines and is located about 35 miles
south of Northampton near Hartford, Connecticut. Flying into Bradley rather than
to Boston's Logan Airport gives you a shorter drive to Northampton and spares you
city traffic congestion.
Limousines, buses and rental cars are available at the airport. Transportation to Smith from the Boston or Hartford airports is available from a number of services.
