Ann Ramsey


Lecturer

Ann Ramsey is a Smith College graduate, who received her Ph.D. from Columbia University.  She has published articles in English and French on cultural history and public space.  Her book, Liturgy, Politics and Salvation: The Catholic League in Paris and the Nature of Catholic Reform, 1540-1640, appeared in 1999.

Ann Ramsey has taught at Columbia, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Iowa, and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris.  In 2007-2008 at Smith, she is teaching a fall colloquium on medieval Paris and a spring survey of the early Middle Ages.
