PICKER ENGINEERING PROGRAM

Smith College’s Picker Engineering Program emphasizes unity of knowledge across disciplines and promotes engineering as a liberal art and a profession in service to humanity. The engineering experience at Smith is very different from that offered at many other engineering schools. We stress breadth of education without compromising the rigors of a solid preparation for entry into practice or graduate school. In other words, our students will be multidimensional, prepared for leadership roles in engineering and society in general. Smith offers an undergraduate curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree in engineering science, the broad study of the underpinnings that govern the practice of all engineering disciplines.
