The entire Smith campus is wired with
sophisticated high-speed network connections to every faculty
and administrative office, all academic buildings, all residential
house rooms, and to locations throughout the library system.
Students enjoy easy access to extensive computer equipment
all over campus including more than 400 Macintosh and Windows
computers available in public resource centers, labs, and
classrooms. Even late at night, help is never far away: a
Computer Information Center provides phone and walk-in help
and is generally staffed the same hours as the computer labs.
A growing number of campus locations --
including the libraries and Campus Center -- provide wireless
Internet access.
The campus network allows access to
computing resources such as the college's UNIX and Novell servers,
the Internet, e-mail, the online Five College library and course catalog,
software servers, and remote printing. |
