For more than 130 years, Smith women have
gone on to lead interesting lives and achieve outstanding things. Our early graduates
became doctors, lawyers and scientists at a time when some believed women to be
incapable of higher learning. Today the answer to "What can I do with a major in
government?" is "Anything you want!"
Graduates of the department are pursuing careers in
law, government, business, media, education, non-profits and social work. Smith
government graduates have also attended law school and graduate programs in international
affairs, campaign management, public policy and political science at highly competitive
universities.
