Gwendolyn Mink is the author of Hostile Environment: The Political Betrayal of Sexually Harassed Women (2000), Welfare's End (1998; rev. ed., 2002), The Wages of Motherhood: Inequality in the Welfare State, 1917-1942 (1995) and Old Labor and New Immigrants in American Political Development (1986). She is also editor of the anthologies Whose Welfare? (1999) and (with Wilma Mankiller, Marysa Navarro, Barbara Smith, and Gloria Steinem) The Reader's Companion to U.S. Women's History (1998).
