Announcing the CLASS OF 2014 SENIOR CAMPAIGN
Did you know about the SENIOR CAMPAIGN?
Every year, Smith seniors raise money toward a class gift that is presented to the college on Ivy Day. It's a tradition that has been going on for decades, and provides seniors the opportunity to make their first official gift to the college as a class. This year the goal is to have 50% of the senior class make a contribution to the senior campaign. The senior campaign is sponsored by the Smith Fund, the college's Annual Fund.
Last year, Smith seniors raised $2,189 from 38% of the class. This year we can do better!
Where does the money go?
Donations to the senior campaign will help raise money for financial aid, study abroad, PRAXIS, sustainability, and faculty support. We, the seniors, get to choose!
Will small donations help, too?
Absolutely! Every donation makes a difference. If every senior made a donation of $5, the class would raise over $3,000 for Smith!
What is the Smith Fund?
The Smith Fund is the way that most alumnae, parents, and friends support the college. It is an annual fund, which means we ask for donations every year. Last year the Smith Fund received over 14,000 donations, totaling $11.7 million. Gifts to the Smith Fund go immediately where they are needed most and help support campus priorities, including financial aid and scholarships for you and your friends.
Why are alumnae donations important?
Gifts from alumnae help make scholarships and financial aid possible for students who otherwise might be unable to attend. In addition to aid, these gifts also support study away opportunities, campus upkeep, teaching and research opportunities, academic programs, library acquisitions, and more!
