The Friends group organizes and sponsors lectures, workshops, symposia and trips, offering students, faculty and the community exposure to highly acclaimed professionals. We welcome each new student with the gift of an ivy plant.

We also sponsor volunteer guides who lead tours of the Botanic Garden. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, and would like more information about volunteer activities and our volunteer training program, please contact:
Madelaine Zadik, Manager of Education and Outreach,
or download a volunteer application

To extend opportunities for students beyond the campus itself, in 1994 the Friends established a summer internship program at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, allowing Smith to become the first undergraduate institution to send designate interns to Kew.

You are invited to become a member of the Friends of the Botanic Garden of Smith College and join us in promoting Smith's world-class gardens. You may join the Friends online or fill out and mail us your membership form.
