 As
part of Smith’s ongoing strategic planning process, President Carol Christ
invited alumnae and the Smith community to share their thoughts on how the Smith
experience influences their lives, work, and values. Over the past months, she has
held more than 50 small group discussions with faculty, students, staff, alumnae,
and trustees focused on these three questions.
From these discussions, the Committee on
Mission and Priorities has developed eight strategic directions to guide the next
phase of the planning efforts, outlined in their report "Re-imagining a Liberal
Arts Education: Linking Smith's Past to Its Future in Bold New Ways."
