I WANT TO LEAVE A BEQUEST

"It is my wish that the institution be so conducted that during all coming time it shall do the most good to the greatest number. I would have it a perennial blessing to the country and the world."
Sophia Smith, 1870

With these words Sophia Smith bequeathed the bulk of her fortune to create a women's college that would offer an education equal to that available to men. Today Smith alumnae, parents, spouses, faculty, and friends continue to support Sophia’s vision with generous gifts that come at the donor’s death.

You may make a bequest using a will, trust, retirement assets, or life insurance.

Whatever way you choose to include Smith in your estate plans, please let the college know you have done it, so you can become a member of The Grécourt Society.

You may use this form to signify your bequest intention. There is also specific language you or your attorney may wish to use to make a bequest with various instruments.
