Smith College has a well-earned reputation of fundraising excellence. For over a century, the steadfast support of thousands has profoundly impacted campus life. Each year, hundreds of individuals fiercely committed to furthering Smith's excellence reach out through a choreographed effort to invite the larger community to support The Smith Fund. We hope you enjoy the opportunity to hear from at least one of the following each year.
Classmates
Like links in the Ivy Chain, volunteering for Smith is a time-honored tradition. Over 700 volunteers for The Smith Fund reach out annually to their "linked" classmates through cards, phone calls, letters and email.
Our dedicated volunteers are savvy fundraisers, but equally as important, enjoy staying connected with you.
As your link to the college, your classmates look forward to hearing about you and your life's joys and accomplishments. They treasure the opportunity to reminisce and share news of the college today and will encourage all levels of support for the Fund, as well as offer sincere thanks for your generous gifts through the years.
Students
Smith students are remarkably grateful for the support given to them. The student phonathon employs an average of 175 students each year, all of whom benefit from the wide range of resources provided through the Fund. Student callers enjoy the opportunity to reach out to our loyal supporters, often delightedly sharing personal anecdotes about their house, major, and other Smith experiences.
Participating in the phonathon clarifies for students the depth of commitment made by the greater Smith community, leaving all with a greater appreciation of how their own experience is made possible, and intensifying their desire to give back after graduation.

Staff
The Alumnae House is home to a dedicated staff of professionals who care deeply about the mission of Smith College and The Smith Fund. These fundraising professionals manage class strategies and reunion campaigns, develop longstanding relationships with volunteers, and are excellent sources of information on college news and priorities.
Our staff regularly contacts alumnae, parents and friends to answer questions about the Fund, assist with structuring a gift to Smith or to simply thank you for your loyalty to the college.
