Volunteer roles are now designed to accommodate
our alumnae with busy lives. Our professional staff provides training and guidance
and offers a variety of ways to participate, from calling and asking classmates to make
leadership gifts, to sharing news of the college and participation gifts, to writing
thank you notes to donors.
Volunteer terms run through June 30 of the reunion year,
with the years immediately before and during reunion the most active ones. The Smith Fund staff holds new volunteer training sessions via conference calls
in the fall and offers on-campus meetings approximately 18 months before reunion.
In addition to our online volunteer
tools, the office regularly mails gift reports and shares “insider news” about
campus developments and activities.
