From a volunteer position in the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital in New York City, to an internship at Congressman John Olver's office in Holyoke, MA, to a job in a juvenile detention center in Springfield, Smith students selected a wide range of assignments for their 2006 summer Praxis internships.
The Praxis program, which guarantees a paid internship to every Smith student, allows students to work in areas that do not offer traditional internships, primarily in the not-for-profit sector. Click on a thumbnail below to read the student's account of her experience.
