The Smith Centers include many of the college’s existing programs and services as well as new courses and seminars designed to enhance students’ experiences and prepare them for life in a rapidly changing world.
Particularly, the college seeks to assure that graduates have achieved both quantitative and scientific literacy, the ability to communicate and present their ideas effectively, work in teams, negotiate, challenge ideas in civil discourse, and identify ethical and moral issues.
While maintaining the advantages of its open curriculum, Smith is seizing the opportunity to shape that curriculum and make it responsive to today’s world. |
