James Sacré

James Sacré taught at Smith from 1972 until 2001. Now living in Montpellier, France, he is mainly working at poetry projects (books, poetry readings, and participation in periodicals). He continues to study and write about sixteen French poets, modern poetry, language, and litterature. He continues also to nourish his writings with landscapes, cities, and persons encountered in countries where he spends or has spent a lot of his time (U.S.A., Morroco, Italy, Spain, and France). His poetry has been published by Le Seuil, Gallimard, André Dimanche, Tarabuste, Le dé bleu, Obsidiane, and a number of small presses.
