Oriane Morriet studied as an undergraduate at the École Normale Supérieure of Paris and holds a master's degree in Theater Studies from l'Université Paris 3 - Sorbonne Nouvelle, where she completed her dissertation "The gracioso in Lope de Vega's theater: a singular look at the Golden Age aristocracy." She has joined the Smith faculty as a visiting lecturer in French Studies for 2014-15.
Morriet specializes in Film and Theater Studies, with a focus on script writing and script doctoring. She has worked with directors and producers from the Fémis school of Paris and has made a short film, shown at the ÉNS's Sacre festival. She also has nine years of experience in stage performance at the Olympia Theater in Tours. Her teaching and research interests include contemporary films and plays, art, philosophy, history, and French literature and language.
