Benjamin Capellari has studied at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) in Paris. He received his B.A. in Philosophy and Maîtrise in Classics from the University Paris-Sorbonne, and his M.A. in Musicology from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. He previously taught French at the University of Bristol (UK).
His current research focuses on music in Greece in the interwar period. He collaborated in the EFA's (French School at Athens) research program: "Paris-Athènes(1919-1939):le double voyage." He is interested in interactions between music and geography and organises a seminar on Geography, Arts and Literature at the ENS in Paris. He is also a composer and has studied music composition for eight years in Paris and London.
