After completing graduate studies in English linguistics and literature in France (Université de Toulouse le Mirail), Anouk Alquier entered the French Program at Washington University in St. Louis where she completed a Graduate Certificate in Language Instruction and is finishing her dissertation on narrative identity in Patrick Modiano and Annie Ernaux. A specialist in twentieth- and twentieth-first century literature, and language pedagogy, Anouk Alquier joined Smith College in 2006. She teaches first- and second-year French language and Voices from/of the outskirts as well as a seminar on the teaching of foreign languages.
