OFF-CAMPUS WORK-STUDY

What To Do

Students seeking a Work-Study position under this program must have Federal Work-Study in their financial aid package (check your Work-Study status using Banner Web.) If you do not have Federal Work-Study, you are not eligible to apply for or hold an Off-Campus Work-Study position.

IMPORTANT: OCWS applicants can download an OCWS Contract to take to interviews, complete with the hiring supervisor, and return immediately to Valerie Schumacher in SFS. You cannot be paid without a completed contract.

If you are interested in an advertised OCWS job, apply for the position directly with the agency via JobX. When hired, complete the contract with your hiring supervisor and return it immediately to Valerie Schumacher in SFS before you start working at the agency. Smith will then bill the agency in June for 25% of the student's earnings, and the employer share of FICA and Workmen's Comp. We can not fund work at agencies for 2011-2012 that did not already have Smith student employees already last year.

Please think seriously about your schedule and other obligations before applying for these positions. Agencies depend on their student workers to be committed to their jobs
