Students seeking a Work-Study position under this program must have Federal Work-Study in their financial aid package (check your Work-Study status using Banner Web.) If you do not have Federal Work-Study, you are not eligible to apply for or hold an Off-Campus Work-Study position. IMPORTANT: OCWS applicants must contact the Student Employment Coordinator at vschumac@smith.edu for a contract when hired at an agency. You cannot be paid without a completed contract.
A Work-Study Agreement and Contract must be made between the college and the agency for the number hours and dollar amount to be earned. The student must also be hired into the position on JobX so that Payroll can set the job up on BannerWeb. The student is responsible for entering her hours on BannerWeb to be paid, and the
supervisor is responsible for approving the hours in time for each payroll.
