Instructions for First Year Applicants for Financial Aid

College Scholarship PROFILE Form

Register on-line at http://www.collegeboard.com. After you register on-line, you may then complete the application on-line.  You can also obtain the registration form from secondary school guidance offices or from Smith College in the fall of your senior year of high school.

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

You can obtain a paper application from secondary school guidance offices or from Smith College. You are encouraged to apply on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

When available: After December 1. May not be sent to Federal Processor before January 1. Smith's tentative offer of aid to admitted students will be made based on the PROFILE and tax returns, but the FAFSA should be filed as soon after January 1 as possible.

Tax Returns - Signed copies of parents' and student's most recent federal income tax returns, including all schedules and W-2's.

Trust Information Request  (This form is required if you have a Trust. Please also provide copies of the Terms of the Trust and/or the Trust's latest 1041.)
