THE FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION PROCESS
FOR CURRENT INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Eligibility for the Program

Non-U.S. citizens found eligible for aid when they applied for entrance to Smith are offered a grant award in the first year that is guaranteed to remain at the same level each year she is at Smith. No yearly reapplication for aid is necessary. (Loan and campus job amounts, which are part of the total aid package, will increase each year to partially offset increases in tuition, fees, room and board.) U.S. citizens and permanent residents and Canadian residents must reapply for aid each year.

International students are required to accept the College's Health Insurance Plan unless their insurance company is in the US. The Health Insurance Decision Form is available online in the summer.

International Students and Work-Study

There is a new policy in place for upperclass (sophomore through senior) international students wishing to request an increase in their earnings limit.
