CANADIAN APPLICANTS

Canadian residents, regardless of country of citizenship, should follow the instructions used by U.S. citizens and permanent residents but please note that Canadians do not need to file a FAFSA. You are required to complete a CSS PROFILE and send Smith signed copies of parent and student tax returns. Canadian students must reapply each year for financial aid, as do U.S citizens and Permanent Residents.

Parents of Canadian students are able to borrow from the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA) to cover college costs not met by financial aid. Families not receiving aid from Smith may also apply for a MEFA loan. For more information, contact MEFA's Montreal Office (800-990-6332).
