The Freie Universitat Berlin International Summer University
FUBiS offers 25 scholarships for North American students in
their first year.
The scholarship offers 100% tuition waiver for two FUBiS
courses, 100% waiver on the registration & activity fee,
and 1000 € for accomodation and living expenses, (distributed
in two intallments of 500 € each during the first and
third week of FUBiS).
FUBiS' plans for 450 students each summer to participate in over 45 intensive classes offered both terms. Founded in 1998, FUBiS cooperates with a number of renowned international partner universities, such as the University of California Berkeley, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Columbia University, the New School, and the Juilliard School. For ten years now, FUBiS has been expanding and adding more special topic and language courses to its program. FUBiS is proud to offer the largest multidisciplinary summer program in Germany.
In celebrating its 10th anniversary, FUBiS feels a special obligation to make its students’ experience as enjoyable and rewarding as possible. Next to the rigorous academic program taught by an international faculty, FUBiS offers special excursions to museums, memorials and political and cultural institutions; weekend excursions to Weimar, Dresden and Prague; a movie time showing popular German movies (with English subtitles); and countless other cultural activities. Students of the European Studies class (term I) will have the unique opportunity to go to Brussels and visit the European Parliament, NATO headquarters, and the Council of Europe.
From airport welcome and in-depth orientation to cultural immersion activities, FUBiS helps students to adjust to their new environment and make the most of their stay in Berlin.
