The Robert H. Goddard Scholarship is sponsored and funded by the National Space Club. Here are a few specifics:
Apparently, there is only one Goddard scholarship awarded annually, valued at $10,000, to a student who is committed to "advancing scientific knowledge through space research and exploration." The selection is based in part on "proven research in space-related science and engineering." The board of governors looks to be a fairly impressive lot, and includes Buzz Aldrin.
Our winner is invited to the National Space Club's 46th annual Goddard Memorial Dinner in Washington, DC in March. This is billed as a black-tie affair at which she will be seated at the head table. The Space Club is funding her travel expenses.
