To choose a Boren country, first go to the Boren website to see their current list of target countries: www.borenawards.org/boren_scholarship

Then go to the Smith Study Abroad website to see Smith's list of Approved Country Programs: www.smith.edu/studyabroad/programs.php
and www.smith.edu/studyabroad/approved.php

Now find countries that appear on BOTH lists to see what your choices are.

Smith College may withdraw its approval of some programs and or countries, so always check with the Study Abroad Program at the Office for International Study (OIS). In any case, provisional approval for your Study Abroad Plan must first be obtained from the OIS before registering with the Fellowships Program for a Boren.

Because Boren countries do change, on September 1 check the Boren website for their updated list of countries.

However, a warning may be lifted, so keep checking.
