Journeys East: Isabella Stewart Gardner and Asia is at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, 280 The Fenway,
through Sun, May 31. Focus is on Isabella Gardner's trips to the Near and Far East and to the formation of a personal museum where Asian art played a significant role. On view is Gardner’s travel albums and Asian objects ranging from Japanese screens to a monumental bronze Buddha, Indian jewelry to Chinese snuff bottles. UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT Asian Studies Outreach Program
The UVM Asian Studies Outreach Program (ASOP) invites nominations and applications for the Awards for Excellence in International Education. This award is given to schools and educators who have developed exemplary practices in promoting teaching and learning about other countries and cultures in the state of Vermont.
Two awards will be offered in 2009. One award will be given to a Vermont school, district or supervisory union for advancing international education in the organization. The award includes a plaque and $3,500. The other award will be given to a Vermont educator who has demonstrated excellence in educating students about the world. The award includes a plaque and $2,000.

THE ART COMPLEX MUSEUM, DUXBURY, MA
Tea ceremony presentations are given at 2 pm in the tea hut situated in a Japanese garden on The Art Complex Museum grounds, 189 Alden St. This year the schedule has been expanded to include June 28, July 26, August 30 and September 27. Admission is free and visitors are advised to dress for the weather. If conditions warrant it, the presentation will be conducted inside the museum. KOREA SOCIETY TRAVELING EXHIBITIONS
The Korea Society in New York City has 6 exhibitions available to travel to institutions in North America. These exhibitions introduce Korean history, culture, religion, pop culture, and contemporary issues through visual materials to audiences outside the major metropolitan areas. They are available for 4- to 12-week loan periods.
