Elizabeth Harries earned an A.B. from Vassar and a Ph.D. in comparative literature from Yale.
Professor Harries' book The Unfinished Manner: Essays on the Fragment in the Later Eighteenth Century came out in 1994; her next book Twice Upon a Time: Women Writers and the History of the Fairy Tale came out in hard cover in 2001 and in paper in 2003.
She is currently working on a book about narrative framing.
