Luc Gilleman

Luc Gilleman was born in Flanders, the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium, where he received a degree in philology from the Free University of Brussels. He earned his doctorate from Indiana University, Bloomington, graduating with a dissertation on dialogue structures in postwar British drama.
Professor Gilleman teaches classes in modern drama, British literature, literature and science, and literary and cultural theory. He is also interested in the history of science, psychoanalysis, translation, and film studies. His research and publications focus mainly on modern drama: his book John Osborne: Vituperative Artist was published by Routledge in 2002; and his articles on modern drama can be found in a number of publications, including Modern Drama, Theatre Journal, Theatre Topics, New England Theatre Journal, Journal for Dramatic Theory and Criticism, The Pinter Review, and Theatre Symposium.
