The second semester of The English Literary Tradition continues the first, with a change of instructors but with the same pattern of regular section meetings reinforced by lectures or other extra meetings on Wednesday afternoons. Class requirements will vary with individual instructors but will generally include class participation, short essays, and a final exam. The authors assigned will include poets (e.g., Blake, Wordsworth, Coleridge, Keats, Tennyson, Browning, Eliot, Yeats, Auden), playwrights (e.g., Wilde, Stoppard, Pinter), and novelists (e.g., Eliot, Conrad, Woolf, Joyce).
