GAIL
SCORDILIS is Director of the Smith
Summer Science and Engineering Program and Adjunct Assistant
Professor; Ph.D., University of Massachusetts. Her research
involved the study of gene regulation in the bacterium Pseudomonas
cepacia; the role of transposable genetic elements as positive
regulators of gene expression by means of DNA sequencing analyses,
Northern hybridization, and S1 nuclease mapping. She has directed
the Summer Science and Engineering Program for high school girls
since 1989.
